Privacy policy
Effective October 7, 2026
The short version. This site sets no cookies, runs no ads and no third-party trackers, and never sells or shares your information. The only personal information it asks for is an email address, and only if you choose to join the Thrennel waitlist.
Who runs this site
bugsmetwice.com (“A Personal Workshop”, “this site”, “I”, “me”) is a personal website run by Thrennel, an independent developer based in Maryland, USA — the same operator behind thrennel.com. I am responsible for the personal information described here (the “controller” under EU and UK data-protection law). You can reach me at admin@thrennel.com.
What is collected, and why
When you visit any page
- Delivering the site. The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare receives your IP address and standard request details (the page requested, your browser type, the time) so that it can deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. I don't receive or keep those request logs.
- Visitor statistics. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, doesn't fingerprint you and doesn't follow you across other sites. I see only totals — which pages were viewed, the referring site, country, browser and device type, and how fast pages loaded. I can't see your IP address or tell who you are.
Legal basis (EU/UK): my legitimate interest in running a working, secure site and understanding, in aggregate, how it's used.
When you join the Thrennel waitlist
- What: your email address, and a record that you agreed to the privacy notices when you sent it. The form also contains a hidden field that only automated spam bots fill in; people never see it.
- Why: to email you a sign-up link when a spot in the Thrennel beta opens. It isn't used for anything else — no newsletters, no marketing — and it isn't shared.
- Where: the form sends your email directly to Thrennel's server, which I operate. It is hosted by Oracle Cloud in Ashburn, Virginia, USA, and stored with the date you joined and whether you have been invited. Thrennel's privacy policy describes that server in full.
- Security: that server uses your IP address, held in memory for up to an hour, to stop the form being flooded. Its web server logs also record the IP address of each request for security and troubleshooting; those logs are size-capped and overwritten automatically.
- Legal basis (EU/UK): your consent, which you give by ticking the box and sending the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing me, and I'll remove your address.
When you email me
If you write to admin@thrennel.com, I receive your email address and whatever you send. Email for that address is handled by Microsoft 365. I use it only to reply to you. Legal basis (EU/UK): my legitimate interest in answering messages sent to me.
What this site doesn't do
- No cookies or other on-device storage — see the cookie policy.
- No advertising, no third-party tracking scripts or pixels, no social-media embeds, and no fonts or scripts loaded from other companies besides Cloudflare's own analytics.
- No selling or “sharing” of personal information (as California law defines those terms), and no use of it for targeted advertising.
- No automated decision-making or profiling.
Service providers
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, DNS, security and visitor statistics for this site.
- Oracle Corporation (Oracle Cloud) — hosting for the Thrennel server that stores waitlist emails.
- Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft 365) — email for admin@thrennel.com.
They process data on my behalf under their own data-protection terms. I don't disclose your information to anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long it's kept
- Waitlist email: until the Thrennel beta waitlist closes or you ask me to remove it, whichever comes first.
- Emails you send me: as long as needed to deal with your message.
- Visitor statistics: aggregate figures only, kept by Cloudflare under its own retention policy.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask me to tell you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or take you off the waitlist. Email admin@thrennel.com and I'll respond within 30 days. I may need to confirm the request came from the owner of the email address.
If you're in the EU or UK, you also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, you have the rights that law gives you; I don't sell or share personal information, and I won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
This site doesn't track you across other sites and doesn't sell or share personal information, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. The site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends one.
International transfers
This information is stored and processed in the United States. If you send the waitlist form from outside the US, your email is transferred there; where the law requires, the transfer relies on the safeguards in my providers' data-processing terms, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
Every page is served over HTTPS with strict security headers, and the Thrennel server is administered only over a private network. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect what I hold, and I'll tell you and any authority the law requires if a breach affects your information.
Children
This site isn't directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the EU and UK). If you think a child has sent me their email, contact me and I'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. If a change would affect how your waitlist email is used, I'll ask for your consent again before applying it to you.
